Fake Reviews Will Hurt Your Business Reputation

One of the best indicators for a business reputation is the reviews that they get.

Of course, when clients are looking for a particular service or perhaps they are looking for a product that they want to buy, it’s best to do some research on that company or product first. For instance, if a woman is interested in buying a certain brand of make-up, she will probably go to the internet and perform a search of that product. This is how she will determine if she wants the product or not. She will see this through reviews and blogs made by people who have used the product.

Then she will probably look at the social media pages of that company and have a look at how popular the company is. She will look at how many Facebook likes the page has, as well as the followers on Twitter and Instagram and even the reviews left on those pages.

As long as she sees that they are positive, then there’s a big possibility that she will be more inclined to buy that certain make-up product. This is the importance of having good reviews for businesses.

This is also the reason why companies are looking for ways to improve their reputation through increasing their reviews and their social media followers. There are some companies who are even so desperate at this that they buy their followers. In other words, they are faking their followers on their social media pages.

Sad to say, there are many online reputation companies who are selling this type of service to businesses. And even sadder still is the fact that companies, even big and prominent ones are consenting in this act since they are clients of these reputation companies as well.

It is not just the ‘likes’ and the ‘followers’ that are being bought. There are even those who just pay others to leave positive reviews on their pages as well. For those who are giving this service, it’s easy money; they just leave a positive comment and they get paid even if what they said was never real.

Of course, this is bad because this is cheating the people into trusting a company that is possibly not as good as they claim to be. This is why these companies are being hunted down and penalized if found guilty. People are also encouraged to report these cases if ever they encounter a business or brand doing this.

Getting positive feedback and increasing the number of followers on social media sites is never an easy task. Companies will need to work hard and make sure that their brand is clean and active enough online. Of course, getting reviews can be quite difficult for some because not all people are willing to leave positive feedback.

However, you can work with what you have even if at the moment, the reviews are not that many. Continue to improve your brand and your business and for sure, the number of positive reviews and followers will continue to increase as well.
